Safety & Health:
We value our workers; their welfare and well-being are our top priority. At the cornerstone of our corporate culture is our mandate to help protect and preserve the safety and health of our workers. For Kuan Aik Hong Construction, the issue of safety and health is more important than profits. That is why we stand tall among our peers with comprehensive safety practices across all projects and set better safety records in the industry.
On the very first day of work at any construction site, all workers have to attend the First Day Safety Induction Course. We believe that only with acute awareness of greater project safety requirements and can we aim for zero accidents. Daily Toolbox meetings and risk assessment briefings are conducted every morning to get the workforce alert and vigilant on various relevant elements of workers’ safety awareness.
For Environment & Community:
We deeply believe in our role as a Corporate Citizen and our responsibility to the environment and community. To demonstrate our commitment to this belief, we have initiated a 2-prong approach in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The first is by carrying out our business and operations in a responsible manner and the second is by contributing directly to the community at large.
Under the first approach, our construction operations have been certified “Excellent” under BCA’s “Green & Gracious Builder” Scheme – a scheme aimed to raise the environmental awareness and professionalism of builders in Singapore. Where possible we:
- reduce, re-use and recycle construction and office materials
- use environmentally-friendly products
- maintain environmentally-friendly practices
- design our buildings to be energy efficient
- maintain good communications with the public around our worksites
- minimize inconvenience and disruption to the public caused by our operations
Under the second approach, we have been making donations and sponsorships to various organisations over the years such as:
- Lions Community Service Foundations
- NCSS Charitable Fund
- Education Fund
- Singapore Table Tennis Association
